Root canal treatment is performed to try and save a tooth.

nerve from the inside of the tooth.

Procedure
- A hole is drilled in the top of
the tooth
- The inside of the tooth is cleaned out with
special chemicals and instruments
- The canal inside the tooth is filled with a rubber filling material
- The area is sealed with
a filling
- Occasionally a crown is needed for extra strength and stability
